Widespread Panic @ The Joint : Saturday

Still beaming from the night before I was pretty excited to have another night of Widespread Panic and another chance to photograph them.  While still a little in shock from the “Sympathy for the Devil” from the night before I was floored again that night when “All Along the Watchtower” was pulled out by the band after not playing it in their previous 612 shows (April 30th, 2003 was the last time that is was played and incredibly, I was at that show as well!).  Another huge highlight for me was closing out the night, the weekend, and the tour with “Ophelia” > “The Shape I’m In” > “Porch Song”.  Simply amaxing!

  1. All I can say is that Jimmy Herring is a MOFO guitar player – the Panic rock – sweet stuff Paul.

He was amazing this weekend! You really need to track down the “All Along the Watchtower”. Can’t believe it took so long for them to play that song with him in the band.

  2. WOW, beautiful shots. So hard to capture the energy of that Saturday night show in pics but you did a fantastic job. It’s Tuesday and I am still riding the high……..All Along the Watchtower blew me away……then Coconut, seriously?………Heaven………does it, can it get any better?……..and to finish with The Shape I’m In and Porch Song. I don’t think I have slept yet. Thanks for bringing it all back in full color

My pleasure! I would have loved to have been down there for the second set. Watching JB from the crowd during “Watchtower” was a lot of fun. Would have loved to have made a few frames of that!
