It was pretty exciting being able to photograph the first of the Los Angeles shows that The Cure were putting on as one of the final seven performances of Reflections.

Last night the Pixies played a ‘secret’ show for fans at the Music Box.  It was beyond amazing to finally catch them in Los Angeles (especially in such a small room)  as they seem to have been playing everywhere else in the area but here.

On Tuesday night I swung into the House of Blues on Sunset to check out Wale as well as Pusha T and Black Cobain.

It was pretty fantastic and exciting to learn that I would be photographing B.B. King on Friday night.

It has been several years since one of my brothers introduced me to Soul Coughing and since then I have been a pretty big fan of Mike Doughty.

So happy to have had the chance to finally check out Cut Copy earlier this week.  Their music has been showing up more and more on the playlists that have been making their way to me.

After catching Beirut at Outside Lands this year I was pretty excited about seeing them again and last night I had my chance when they came through the Greek Theater.

I am still in a little shock as I am just getting in from catching Jane’s Addiction perform at the John Anson Ford Theatre.

Of course I was pretty excited heading out the door on Saturday night to photograph Blink 182 but knowing that I was also going to be able to photograph Matt & Kim again really had me fired up.

The Honda Civic Tour landed at the Honda Center on Saturday night with Blink 182 headlining the show.

One of the few reasons that I was sad that I skipped photographing the Sunset Strip Music Festival this year was that I thought I was going to miss my chance to photograph Bush.

I am definitely enjoying that they have moved beyond movies at Hollywood Forever and are now pulling together a solid line-up of concerts as well.

After catching The Kills at Coachella and at The Music Box over the past few months I was pretty excited to see them again on Saturday night at The Wiltern Theater.

Saturday was a perfect afternoon for the 2011 installment of FYF.  While it was probably as dusty if not more dusty than it was last year it definitely was not as scorching during the afternoon which helped make the day a lot more enjoyable.

Early in the week I was pretty excited to hear that Vintage Trouble was returning to Harvelle’s for one show before heading back to the UK to continue touring.

I have been lucky enough to catch Death Cab for Cutie at the Hollywood Bowl a couple years ago and at the El Rey a few months ago so being able to add the Greek Theater to that list last night was pretty exciting.

Sunday was a pretty mellow day as far as my schedule went but I was still able to see some phenomenal sets during the afternoon and evening.  While I had seen Arcade Fire before at Coachella I must not have been paying that close enough of attention because I was really blown away by their show on [...]

Still beaming from the night before I had my biggest day on Saturday with a personal line-up that included Ximena Sariñana, The Vaccines, OK Go, Arctic Monkeys, Sia, The Black Keys, The Roots, and Muse to close it out.

Nothing beats photographing Weezer.  After catching them late last year you can imagine that I was chomping at the bit to see them again.

I was pretty excited to check out Matisyahu for the first time as well as to photograph Tea Leaf Green again after catching them in Hermosa Beach late last year.

I have been eagerly anticipating this concert all summer long and why not?  Lauryn Hill, Rise Against, Muse, and Rage Against the Machine all together for a night at the L.A. Coliseum.

Lately I have been having the itch to give away an 8×12″ print from my archives so I figured what better time than now? I want to keep it simple for you so you don’t have to “like this” and “re-tweet that” in order to enter.  You just need to leave a comment in the [...]

IRONHEEL are one of my favorite bands in Los Angeles.  I have been seeing and photographing them for a little while now.

Many more years ago than I care to remember, two friends—Matt and Zach—handed me a couple of Ben Folds Five CDs, in an effort to persuade me to bring the band to our tiny college campus.
